At Cedars HOPE, we debuted our first Nutrition and Personal Wellness Course in Fort Wayne – a new version of which, with emphasis on hands-on cooking experience, begins next week. Cedars HOPE is also home to a Lifetime.Education full-service computer lab that residents use both during our Digital Skills Course taught each week and also to practice on their own time.
Visit our site at clinics.lifetime.education and fill out our request form and we’ll schedule a day and time where a Registered Pharmacist will come to your location and administer the flu shots. There is no cost for our services, or the clinic. Vouchers are provided for anybody unable to pay, so nobody will be turned away.

The journey for any student with Lifetime.Education working towards his or her High School Equivalency Diploma, starts with CASAS – which stands for Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System. Using this system, we are able to gauge exactly what a student needs to begin his or her journey.
Yesterday, the Gathering Place Clubhouse hit the ground running! Four of the staff and members at the Gathering Place have gone the distance and completed certification with CASAS to become Proctors and Coordinators – the highest number of Certified Proctors we have at any one partner location! Along with their enthusiasm for education, these Certified Proctors are going to be instrumental in the journey of students at the Gathering Place.
Certified Proctors are a big part of what we do and we are currently in need of Volunteers to help eager students start their journey with us by giving assessments. Certification is free and scheduling is flexible. As you may or may not have seen, the Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne is a participating agency in the upcoming Walking Home 2015 event. Walking Home, formerly known as Homeward Bound, is a charity walk that benefits the agencies throughout Fort Wayne serving the homeless in our city.
The event is Sunday, April 26th, 12:00 pm at Headwaters Park.
We need your help.
We’re asking all of our volunteers to come and walk for us. More than that, we’re asking you to invite your friends, family, and fellow community-minded citizens to come out and help support the work we do.
Whether you walk and donate, or just walk, we are so very thankful for any support you can give us.
Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne is proud to present our end-of-year report we presented to our tutors, volunteers, and students who attended our end-of-year get together.
We’ve blessed with amazing volunteers from all walks of life and are so thankful for the opportunity to live, work, and serve a community as soulful and inclusive as Fort Wayne, Indiana. This city really is a special place.
Channel 10 was on location yesterday evening to cover the “Longest Night” walk, hosted by the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. The Fort Wayne Area Planning Council on Homelessness held a meeting today at Citizen’s Square in the Omni Room. Individuals from organizations throughout Fort Wayne serving individuals experiencing homelessness came together to be part of a dialogue on how we, as a city, can move forward. This particular FWAPCH meeting had record attendance – everyone from agency leaders, to city department heads, the Deputy Mayor, and even a representative from Senator Donnelly’s Office attended to listen, offer suggestions, and learn. In addition to record attendance, this FWAPCH meeting was also featured on wane.com and Channel 15.
