Our end-of-year report.

Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne is proud to present our end-of-year report we presented to our tutors, volunteers, and students who attended our end-of-year get together.

We’ve blessed with amazing volunteers from all walks of life and are so thankful for the opportunity to live, work, and serve a community as soulful and inclusive as Fort Wayne, Indiana. This city really is a special place.

Fort Wayne Area Planning Council on Homelessness; December 2014 Meeting

The Fort Wayne Area Planning Council on Homelessness held a meeting today at Citizen’s Square in the Omni Room. Individuals from organizations throughout Fort Wayne serving individuals experiencing homelessness came together to be part of a dialogue on how we, as a city, can move forward. This particular FWAPCH meeting had record attendance – everyone from agency leaders, to city department heads, the Deputy Mayor, and even a representative from Senator Donnelly’s Office attended to listen, offer suggestions, and learn. Homelessness and Fort Wayne; Episode 2, Mental Illness and The Armed Forces

Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne, Inc. was at Access Fort Wayne today filming the 2nd episode of Homelessness and Fort Wayne. Homelessness & Fort Wayne is a television round-table with expert panelists from their respective fields sitting down to talk about problems, solutions, and ideas to move our community forward.

This month, the topic was Mental Illness and The Armed Forces.

Our all-star cast included:

Andy Wilson – Carriage House
Amanda Baker – VOAIN Safe Haven
James Mitchell – Department of Veterans Affairs
Sylvester Hunter – New Life House

Computer Classes at Liberty Landing

Today marked the first day of our Computer Skills Class being held at Volunteers of America’s Liberty Landing, a shelter for homeless veterans in Fort Wayne. The classes are instucted by our tutor, Natalie, and will take place every Saturday morning at 10:00am.

We do have a shortage of computers for this and other programs. If you’re in/around/near/sort-of-near to the Fort Wayne area and would like to donate a laptop or desktop to the Homeless Coalition of Fort Wayne, please let us know. Give us a call at 260-557-1230 or email us at email@staff.hcftw.org
